We were recently given a job to design the new interiors of the refurbishment of the new hotel in Birmingham. The scope of works consisted of 120 hotel guestrooms, public area with reception connected with a restaurant and a cocktail bar, wellness area including fitness and sauna.

We have also been awarded with the job of designing all the passages and corridors with matching wallpanelling and skirting. The items which our design bureau had to design and prepare the visual concepts for were guestroom bedhead made of upholstered fabric on a wooden base, guestroom bed base made of wooden base with maple veneer, guestroom mirrors which included metal designer artwork frame in the guestroom and a mirror with a wooden frame in the bathroom.

As a part of the hotel guestroom scope of work we also concepted the veneered writing desk with all the necessary electrical and utility cutouts, the nightstand with matching maple veneer decor with metal gliders. Throughout the hotel as well as in the hotel guestrooms there is a wooden wallpanelling with horizontaly layered maple veneer which runs from the entrance to the hotel guestroom towards the writing desk and coontinuing by the upholstered headboard.

The skirting of the hotel bedroom is made of solid maple wood and is layered along the hotel guestroom walls. In the hotel public areas we had to come up with a solution for a relatively small lobby space in which we had to position the hotel lobby reception desk, the concierge desk located to the very right of the lobby and a miniature seating area which should be able to comfortably seat minimum of 15 guests.  The reception is desk was also designed to be in maple veneer decor which will highlight the bright space of the lobby.

The skirting of the reception desk, which is designed to be almost 3 meters long, was designed to be made in brushed aluminium decor. The concierge desk is following the same style with the bright maple tones and the steel imitation skirting.  The seating area of the lobby is designed to be in mellow green tones upholstered in the organic fabric. The skirting of the seating benches or islands is again made of brushed aluminium. The restaurant and the cocktail bar of the hotel consist of the centrally located warm and cold buffet stands finished in bright melamined decor for which the base is the high pressure laminate or HPL on short. In the corner of this area we have foreseen the bar counter made of the same base material and a matching decor to those of the hotel restaurant cold and warm buffet stations. The waitor stations in the area are located righ and left of the entrance to the restaurant.

The welness are of the venue is located on the 12th floor of the hotel and comprises of the welness reception desk which follows the design line of the main reception area of the hotel with the lockers area. The lockers are made of the melamined boards in a light colour tones. For this extensive scope of works our bureau had to find the supplier who would meet our high qualitative standards as well as the time frame in which the furniture needed to be prepared.
